I don’t know if this is what you call “spiritual search”, but lately I’ve been so interested in finding answers to some of my questions regarding God.
It’s very hard to find answers when almost all people usually give you the answer “Just believe”. I don’t want to “just believe”. I want explanations. I don’t want to believe in things I don’t understand. Yes, that’s the natural me.
And thank God, as a product of observing religious people’s behavior, reading some facts, and analyzing, I found, or rather, I “realized” the answers to my queries.
The following are my answers to some of my questions regarding God.
1. Is there a proof that there’s God/Creator?
Before, I answered this with the “logical” explanation — Everything is created. For example, if you see a chair, you know there’s someone who made that chair even if you actually didn’t see the act of creating it. But my friend said it wasn’t logically correct. I didn’t know why she said it wasn’t. Okay, I thought. I’ll find another proof soon.
A couple of months later, I found the ultimate answer. I knew PHI. It’s just a pity my teachers and professors didn’t introduce PHI to me. Nope, PHI’s not a person. In fact, PHI’s a number, a very beautiful number. PHI’s the “divine proportion”, which is present in all living things — plants, animals and even humans contains the amazing PHI or simply the 1.618 proportion. God’s hand is very evident in all living things.
2. Does God really help us?
I posted this secular query on my Facebook Status a year ago and obviously, people threw me answers that didn’t even seem like “answers”.
Now, my answer is a resounding YES — But,this doesn’t mean that I shouldn’t do anything when facing a problem. Actually, I must do everything I can when facing a problem.
God is inside us. We just have to awaken it. or Her, Him, whatever. Point is, I believe God, the powerful being who helps people when they’re facing problems, is inside each of us.
I came to this conclusion after observing my very religious classmates, who can do things efficiently because they think God, somewhere out there, is helping them. I think, it’s just a psychological effect. A person faithfully thinks God helps him. In effect, he can do the thing he wants to do, like get high score in exams, understand what he’s reading, and stuff. Therefore, what they call God, is actually inside them. What they call God is actually part of them.
Furthermore, won’t it be too difficult for God if She’s somewhere, then billions of humans are asking for Her help? Won’t God easily get tired? Even if She’s a God, with these ambitious humans who continually ask for Blackberry, iPod, Mac, cars, house and lot, solutions to their unending problems, and stuff, God will surely give up centuries ago.
And don’t you find it odd that God knows what you’re going to pray about even if you haven’t started yet? Don’t you find it odd that many people are praying at the same time and yet people say, God listens? God listens, God knows your prayer even if you haven’t said it yet simply because God is inside you.
I shared my belief to Gem, my freethinker friend. She agreed. She said Psychologists called such thing as “higher self” but she’s not sure of the term.
3. If God’s inside us, then where did the Creator I was talking about go?
Inside each of us. Remember the Science’ Big Bang Theory? Remember the Catholic’s Genesis? Years ago, I believed the two were contradictory to each other. Then recently I just learned (such a pity, just recently), that The Big Bag Theory’s actually a theory created by a Catholic priest, and The Big Bang Theory and Genesis actually have one main point: God created us from nothing. The “nothing” there stands for other matters. Science said “Matter cannot be created from nothing.” but they left their own theory because of the discovery of anti-matter. Now, they believe matter can be created from energy. Matter is a trapped energy. If you’ll follow the logic, you’ll realize God created us from “nothing” because She used Her own energy to create us. Thus, God’s energy is within each of Her creation.
4. Why did God Create us? I mean, everything. Why did She do that Big Bang?
Product of boredom? Too lonely? I couldn’t think of any answer.
Then Gem told me, God created everything because it’s the only way God can experience everything. God cannot experience “Joy” if there’s no “Sadness”, and stuff. I am not yet sure about this. Hopefully I’ll stumble upon an answer to this question someday.
5. Why should I pray?
Because when a person prays, a person talks to God, there is peace. There is moment of clarity. During praying, or seconds after praying, there’s a big possibility that you’ll know the solution to your problem.
I usually told my friend Ate Xtin before that I’d rather think of a solution and act than kneel and just keep on praying. And she usually replied to me with her understanding thought, that what I was doing was also praying, and it’s just called “prayer in action”. Now I understand her.
But there are circumstances where in you badly need other people’s help, for example, you’re trapped in a well and there’s really no way to get out of it. Pray. If I were in such situation, I’ll still pray because the “God” inside other people will surely hear my prayer. We are connected with each other.
Furthermore, I can sleep more peacefully if before sleeping I pray, I talk to God. It keeps away some unhealthy thoughts which contribute in producing nightmares.
Although some of my beliefs here seem to be just beliefs and won’t really be acceptable to everyone, at least I understand them so I can say I believe in what I wrote. But I’m open in learning more about God.
Some people might not agree to what I’m saying here. But it’s okay. I know you just don’t agree because of difference in using some terms, and more importantly, difference in point of view, like I’m viewing a mountain on one side, and you’re viewing the same mountain on the other side. And yet, we’re still viewing the same mountain.

i think that’s why God created me, you… us…
because He wanted to lavish His Love on us…

Hello! I am Janrae and I just visited your website. Moreover, I am answering your questions…I want to answer it generally…if that’s okay with you…
Firstly, let us study the existence of God. God is real and God exists. The mere fact that we live in a perfect earth proves that there is God. Some say the creation was made accidentally, which I do not believe. God is an exact God, when he created the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1), he measured it. I have proof, in Job 38:4-6 it says:
“Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? Declare, if thou hast understanding. Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it? Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof;”
When we reduce the measurements of the earth, the temperature reduced, we will freeze, increase it we will be burned. God is really an exact God.
Some people who are called Atheists believe that there is no God, which the bible calls as fools. Let us read it in Psalms 14:1 it says:
“The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.”
We have to pray to God, because it is the only way that we can communicate with him. His son, Jesus Christ commanded us to pray to God, his father (Matthew 6:9). It is also the way we can tell God our problems and worries, which was told by Apostle Paul in Philippians 4:6 and it reads;
“Be careful for nothing; but in anything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.”
When you call unto God, and you are called by his name, he gave a promise, wherein said in 2 Chronicles 7:14 and it reads;
“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
Isn’t God a merciful God? According to these verses it proves how good God is! We can never say that he didn’t bless his true church and true sons in the Church…the Church of God…(1 Timothy 3:15).
God calls, he said in (Jeremiah 6:16) to walk in his old path, where they will find rest in their souls. How great is God…! When we are in his true Church, his blessings will be made known.
But, when we have known God, we must do all his commandments in his house (house of God) as written in Ezra 7:23, which was later on told by Apostle Paul to be the Church of God…(1 Timothy 3:15).
Not all preachers and evangelists in this world are true, Apostle Peter said, in 2 Peter 2:1 and it says;
“But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.”
In this verse Apostle Peter is telling us about false prophets and teachers. We can not deny this fact. The Lord Jesus Christ has prophesized this…! It reads in Matthew 24:24;
“For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets; and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.”
Apostle John have told this in 1 John 4:1 and it reads;
“Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world”
Truly, the prophecies about these pastors are true, and their works are shown! (Isaiah 56:11) and (Micah 3:11). – [Beware of these teachers and pastors]
There is only one true Church and Religion, wherefore we must seek. Thank you very much for reading my answer and God bless you. I am happy that there are people who seek for God and his righteousness.
Watch us on UNTV 37! Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel S. Razon is there…gladly, many answers about God and his mysteries in the Bible is opened and answered. God bless you and to God be the Glory. His righteousness always prevails.
Respectfully yours,

Hi,
Just saw the link at the bottom of one of my posts to your site. Awesome! Great stuff. My blog is about this sort of stuff too. I have found that the universe was created on principles, truths that never fail. Like gravity. I can argue with it but it’s still true anywhere on the planet. There may be higher principles, but I ain’t found them yet. Spiritual truths, same thing, I can argue, deny, or complain all day, they are still true.
This morning, I was asking, what’s the deal about asking and receiving? Quite, calm, no mind… just breathing. Oh, you mean it’s just like that, I ask breathing out and as soon as I ask, I breathe in the answer? I couldn’t stop it from happening even if I tried. Can’t be that simple can it? It is, but my mind thinks it’s not, so I don’t go with the in-spire-ation that I’m given because a lot of times it doesn’t make logical sense. We are all connected, you are right, so we are so much more than our mind. It’s time to start identifying the principles and quit arguing over specifics. One person at a time. Thank you, my sister.
Very true. I was actually thinking of listing down the things that will never change, things that follow the universal law. I’ll let you know when I’m done writing them.
Interesting post, especially the praying part. I’m an atheist, so I wouldn’t call it “god”, but I see what you mean with god being inside of us all. I don’t know how it works, but I know there is something that makes things work in your favor if you take responsibility and do something about it despite all odds – and if all you can do is pray, that’s still enough.
Let’s call it The Force! :D The word God is so cliche anyway.
I’m glad you understood what I was trying to say in this post. And that’s right. Let us keep doing our best, and something unexplainable in favor of us will happen. People call it miracle. But if you want, let’s not call it miracle. Let’s call it The Gift. ;)
Lol!
Nah… The Gift tastes too much like cliché to me. Miracle is fine. I’ve seen those happen before, and they’re fun. :)
I love this post. I have the same set of questions too and it was so nice of you to do the research for me. Hihi. :)
The existence of God will always be open to the public to doubt or debate unless God will present himself/herself/itself to the world fully clothed and in gladiator sandals, much like the paintings and pictures. I think that will pretty much make everyone shut up. But oh well, everyone is entitled to his/her own beliefs. I believe in God just because. I come to a conclusion that maybe, just maybe there are things in life that are never meant to be dissected with logic or facts. What is important is that someone believes. But that’s just me.
I like your opinion.
